Oyakodon
INGREDIENTS ��
1. Cooked TaiwanRice: 1 bowl
2. Chicken: 100g (chicken thigh or breast, cut into bite-sized pieces)
3. Onion: 1/4 (sliced)
4. Eggs: 2
5. Soy sauce: 2 tbsp
6. Mirin: 2 tbsp
7. Sugar: 1 tsp
8. Dashi stock (or chicken broth): 1/2 cup
9. Chopped green onions: for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS ✅
1. Prepare the rice
Cook the TaiwanRice and set it aside in a bowl.
2. Cook the onions and chicken
In a pan, combine the dashi stock, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Bring it to a boil, then add the sliced onions. Cook until the onions soften. Add the chicken pieces and simmer for about 5 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
3. Add the eggs
Beat the eggs and pour them over the chicken and onion mixture. Stir gently to spread the eggs evenly. Reduce to low heat and cook until the eggs are half-cooked or fully cooked, depending on your preference.
4. Assemble
Pour the chicken, onions, and egg mixture over the cooked TaiwanRice.
5. Garnish
Top with chopped green onions and serve.
